Lowe's 2019 Summer Internship Program offers challenging assignments to undergraduate and graduate students, enhancing their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE ? 50 company. The summer internship program begins with orientation in late May and concludes in early August. All internships are paid and housing is available for those that qualify. This role has potential for conversion into a full-time position for those that successfully complete the internship and upon candidate's graduation.
The internship will consist of a project-based assignment to broaden learning, experience, and organizational knowledge and business acumen. We are looking for people driven by potential. Inventory Fulfillment Intern
The Inventory Fulfillment area is responsible for interpretation and execution of the inventory plans for respective business categories. They analyze replenishment data and make key decisions to manage inventory needs to drive sales and return on investment. They provide key inputs and validation of inventory fulfillment plans as the primary contact for the Supply Chain Planners. In collaboration with the key stakeholders within the supply chain, they proactively manage key performance metrics, including root-cause analysis and solution recommendations to ensures order flow meets designated capacity constrains throughout the supply chain.
The Inventory Fulfillment internship will consist of a project-based assignment to broaden learning, experience, organizational knowledge, and business acumen. This internship will be based out of the Wilkesboro, NC office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Evaluate vendor order flow patterns and frequency in conjunction with vendor capacities, transportation capacities and distribution network capacities, and prepare findings, opportunities, and recommendations for leadership review
+ Assist in coordinating the execution of optimal resolution of inventory in-stock issues, depth, timing and efficient flow of inventory to support financial objectives for an assigned category
Required Qualifications
+ Currently pursuing a Bachelor?s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited university with expected graduation dates of December 2019 or May 2020
+ Proficient in MS Office Programs
+ Strong oral, written and communication skills
+ Effective personal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others, and bring new ways of thinking to the organization
+ Ability to work in a fast pace and ever changing environment
+ Accuracy and attention to detail
+ Analytical skills
+ Data gathering and reporting
Preferred Qualifications
+ 3.0 or above GPA
+ Relevant internship experience and/or other related work experience, such as a leadership role in student/campus organizations, volunteer, etc.
+ Previous retail experience or supply chain operations

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
