Foreclosure Paralegal

o Draft legal documents, pleadings, correspondence to court and case parties. This includes preparation of Affidavits, Assignments, Amended Complaints, Drops/Defaults, Motion for Summary Judgment and Final Judgment packages, initial drafts of responses to discovery, defense motions, and affirmative defenses.
o Update clients daily via email and/or applicable systems such as Black Knight fka LPS, Lenstar, Vendorscape, RealResolution, Quandis. Complete or reproject assigned tasks, address all messages and issues.
o Request flat and hourly fees from clients, follow-up as necessary, receive, and record fee approval internally. Ensure proper billing entries for tasks performed on a file.
o Maintain hearing calendar by ensuring attendance to all court events, advance preparation of hearing packages, and immediate processing of hearing results. Calendar and meet all deadlines.
o Comply with client directives, Florida Rules of Civil Procedure, court Orders, and Firm policies.
o Maintain physical and electronic files. Update all applicable case milestones

o High School graduate required. Preferred: Some college or certification preferred
o 2-3 years of stable work experience as a paralegal required. Preferred: 5 years preferred
o Professional appearance, energetic, outgoing personality with excellent communication and strong customer service skills.
o Organized, able to multi task in a fast-paced environment, possess exceptional stress tolerance, sense of urgency and a meticulous attention to detail.
o Ability to maintain positive internal working relationships with office staff; must be able to work independently and as a part of a team.
o Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook; have general understanding of internal/client software: CaseWare, Black Knight, Vendorscape, Lenstar, Quandis
o Must be punctual and reliable. Preferred: List any special knowledge or skills that are preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
